October 12-15

PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their 3-day weekend.  Last week, all PTMS staff and students participated in “The Week of Respect.”  Along with themed days, the staff created and shared a video with our students reading the book, “We’re All Wonder.”  Here is the link to that video.  Also, on Wednesday, we provided each student with a strip of paper to write how they plan on showing respect.  We turned this into a chain that is hung in our main entrance.  This was a great week to bring all of us together as a school community.

This week, the front of PTMS will be receiving some fall planting sponsored by the South Jersey Land andWater Trust. All of our students will have an opportunity to help with the planting. We look forward to

seeing how these plants and flowers will make a difference in years to come.  Stay tuned for photos!

Also, this Thursday, October 14, is individual student photos by Lifetouch.

October 4-8

 PTMS Wildcats,

We are now in October for the 2021-22 school year.  This past week, we held our first in-person Back-To-School Night in two years and it was well attended.  Our community was able to meet with our teachers and learn how each of their student's classes was going to be structured for the school year.  We thank everyone who was able to attend.  Also, this past week we began our RTI Intervention and Enrichment Cycle 1.  We have identified students in need of additional support in Mathematics and Language Arts.  Our interventionist began working with these students and setting goals for the next 10 weeks.  We are looking forward to seeing these students Thrive!  In addition, our enrichment offerings are in full swing and students are beginning to take part in activities in STEM, Service to Self, Literacy, and Visual & Performing Arts.

This upcoming week is our "Week of Respect."  Please see this link for the daily themes for our school.  Also, this week is a short week, students will be off from school this Friday for a staff in-service.

September 27-October 1

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend.  This past week, our Wildcats finished taking the NJ Start Strong assessment.  PTMS teachers used this data and our NWEA Map data to begin forming our RTI Math and ELA groups.  We will begin working with the identified students this week during our Thrive Time.  Also, on Friday, students were provided with permission slips to sign up for our 2021-22 clubs.  We look forward to having our Wildcats sign up for the various clubs provided for this school year!  All clubs will begin the week of October 4.

Parents and Guardians- we are in need of your help!  There are several inappropriate challenges going around on Tik Tok that encourage students across the country to take part.  These challenges encourage students to vandelize bathrooms, pull students down by their books bags, and steal items from school.  We have addressed this with our student body to avoid this from happening in our school.  However, we are asking parents to please discuss these various challenges with your student(s) to avoid anyone getting hurt or have to face discipline for their actions.  Thank you in advance for your continued support.

September 20-24

 PTMS Wildcats,

We have finished our first full week of the 2021-22 school year.  Our Wildcats completed their NWEA Map beginning of the year assessment for reading and mathematics.  We will begin using the data from these assessments to create our RTI groups as well as inform classroom instruction.  Also, our Wildcats are starting to earn Green tickets from our staff for following our PRIDE character traits. (Patience, Respect, Integrity, Diligence, Empathy)  Wildcats with these tickets can enter into various drawings for prizes that take place throughout each month!

PTMS September 13-17

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend and the beautiful weather!  We have completed our first week of school for the 2021-22 school year.  This past week our Wildcats were able to meet their teachers and reconnect with some of their friends.  Our teachers took the first 4-days to review the structure of their class, rules, expectations, began building positive relationships with students, and provided students with an overview of how to be successful in their classes!  On Friday, Mr. Hudson conducted grade level assemblies to review school-wide rules, procedures, expectations, and ways to get involved with the many different programs/activities PTMS has to offer this school year.  If the first 4-days are any indication of the type of school year we are going to have, then this year will be an amazing school year!  Keep up the great work Wildcats!

PTMS June 14-16

 PTMS Wildcats,

We have reached our last 3-days for the 2020-21 school year.  This past week was action-packed at PTMS.  Throughout the week each grade level had a field day, our 8th-graders visited APSHS and practiced for their upcoming Ceremony, our students participated in their 3rd Wildcat Wildness this year, and more.  Although the school year is coming to an end, we are making the most of our final days.  This week we will have the Kona Ice Truck at our building for our students as one final treat before summer begins.

On behalf of everyone at PTMS, we want to wish everyone a safe and amazing summer!  We look forward to seeing our Wildcats back at PTMS in the fall!  Congratulations to the PTMS Class of 2021!
