PTMS September 30-October 4 .

PTMS Wildcats,

It's hard to believe that the first month of school is coming to an end.  Our school atmosphere is filled with excitement about learning and reaching new heights.  It promises to get even better this upcoming week.  Beginning Monday, we will be officially starting our RTI Framework during Thrive Period.  The PTMS team has been working extremely hard in preparation for the September 30th start date.  Our Enrichment Teachers are looking forward to teaching the 16 courses that have been designed and will be taught during this time.

Also, our Interventionist Teachers are looking forward to implementing their new courses of Edmentum Exact Path and Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI).  The students at PTMS are set to Thrive thanks to the hard work of everyone involved in this process.  Great job!

PTMS September 23-27

PTMS Wildcats,
We had another great week at PTMS.  Our Back to School Night was attended by over 200 families.  Parents/Guardians were able to hear from the administration about the excitement that is coming for the 2019-2020 school year.  This was followed by classroom visits that provided parents an overview from each teacher on what their child will be learning this school year.  Thank you to everyone who was able to make it.

PTMS September 9-13

    PTMS Wildcats,

We had a great first 3-days to our 2019-2020 school year.  Everyone worked together to lay the foundation for a successful school year.  The students had an assembly to review school rules, activities, and other important information for the school year.  Each teacher took the time to explain classroom procedures and created activities to develop a better understanding of our students as well as their learning style(s).  We are on our way to great things this year at PTMS.  Below are some highlights from some of the amazing activities from around the school.

What will you be this year?

Students diligently work on escaping the room! This room requires the discovery of the components of quality work, discovering important locations, exploring the syllabus, emphasizes the importance of following directions, problem-solving and collaboration and last but not least focuses on a growth mindset!

Students in Mrs. Suwala's Language Arts classes are getting to know each other

Mrs. Hetzell’s class worked on a “Science About Me” activity, drawing connections between the science topics that they will be learning about this year and their own lives. This included information such as inherited traits and learned behaviors, the type of weather that describes their mood most often, their favorite use of electricity, among other things. Students even conducted some quick research to identify the phase of the moon on the day they were born!
