PTMS October 28-November 1

PTMS Wildcats,

We had a great week at PTMS.  Our Red Ribbon Week and School Violence Awareness Week provided several opportunities to bring our entire school family together.  Our students and staff showed a lot of school unity by wearing the appropriate colors in support of bringing everyone's attention to unity and the dangers of drugs.  A special thank you to our high school students for coming over and teaching our students about how drugs affect our bodies.  Our week ended with a spooktacular school-wide Halloween Dance.  We had over 300 students in attendance who were able to enjoy snacks, refreshments, and dance to cap off another great week at PTMS.  Thank you to the teachers and parents who were able to chaperone this dance and make another memorable time for our students!

Check out a video recap of our PTMS Halloween Dance

PTMS October 21-25

PTMS Wildcats,

This week may have been short, however, our school had a lot of exciting activities going on throughout the building.  Ms. Conroy and Mrs. Brown were able to get two projects funded by donorschoose.org.  We thank our donors for helping us create new learning spaces and activities for our students! We are looking forward to seeing the two projects implemented in our school soon.  Stay tuned!  On Thursday, some of our 8th-grade students were able to go on the Salem County Agriculture Field Trip where they learned about hydroponics, how chickens are raised, different types of farm equipment, and how some tractors have a satellite GPS to plow fields.  Also, on Thursday our "Top Cats" of the month were recognized at the board of education meeting.

PTMS October 14-18

PTMS Wildcats,

We had an exciting week at PTMS! Our clubs, RTI/Thrive period, and classes continue to provide challenging and engaging activities to further our student's learning.  Our "Week of Respect" provided many opportunities for us to continue to bring unity to our school.  It was amazing to see how everyone joined forces and wore different outfits/colors for our daily inclusive themes. The Centerton Fire Company came out to PTMS and talked with our students about the importance of fire safety.

PTMS October 7-11

PTMS Wildcats,

We had a great start to our new RTI/Thrive period.  Our PTMS staff has worked extremely hard in preparation for this new framework.  The students are really excited about their Thrive period and are enjoying their learning path.  Below is a list of comments from our students when talking about Thrive.
-"It's going awesome, we are learning teamwork skills."
-"I like the quiet and learning how to get better at reading."
-"I am glad we are not doing packets.  The teachers are connecting with us."
-"I like it, the class is going to help me get started with my career."
-"I like it because I love learning about money."
-"I love it, I didn't know that coding was so easy."
-"This is a fun class, it is a great way to start the day."
-"I truly feel that the tech production studio is an overall delight to be in."
-"I love that we are doing hands-on projects based on a story we read."
-"I am excited that we are doing service projects in small groups."
-"Thrive is the best thing ever because it does not involve homework."

This new framework is truly allowing every student to be challenged and have their individual skills enhanced to increase learning as well as achievement.  We are looking forward to seeing all of our students continue to Thrive at PTMS in all of their classes.
