PTMS February 14-17

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend.  Our upcoming week may be short but is full of excitement.  This week is "Random Acts of Kindness Week at PTMS."  Each day will have a daily theme for everyone to take part in to promote kindness around PTMS.  Also, Thursday, February 17th is the 100th day of school for the 2021-22 school year.  We challenge all of our students to think of something that you can now do that 100 days ago was a challenge.  How can you use this new information to help you for the remaining 80 days of school?

Here is an update on PTMS Renaissance (Check out the new prizes)

PTMS February 7-11

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  We have reached the halfway point and have finished the second marking period for the 2021-22 school year.  To celebrate everyone's hard work, we had our second Wildcat Wildness on Friday, February 4.  In the competitions between grades 5-6, it was grade 6 who came out victorious and held onto the grade level trophy.  In our competitions between grades 7-8, it was grade 8 who came out victorious and held onto the grade level trophy.  We thank our Physical Education Department for their hard work in organizing the event for everyone to enjoy.  The games were exciting and our students did a great job of showing good sportsmanship.  We look forward to starting marking period 3 together!

As a reminder to all of our students, make sure to continue turning in your work on time, attend Z.A.P. for extra support, reach out to your teachers if you need help, and continue to make positive choices in our school.  We are now halfway through our school year, what will you work harder at in the second half of the year?  How will you reach your goal(s)?  We believe in you!

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and were able to enjoy the snow!  We look forward to seeing our Wildcats back in school on Tuesday.  This week will have us reach the half way point of the 2021-22 school year.  We continue to encourage all of our Wildcats to check their grades, submit your work, attend Z.A.P. during lunch and finish the marking period strong!  Second marking period ends on Thursday, Febraury 3.  As a way to celebrate everyone's  hard work, we are going to have Wildcat Wildness Round 2 on Friday, February 4.  Front Office Studios and Waldo The Wildcat created a short video below showcasing some of the fun for this event...

PTMS January 24-28

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  This past week, our Academic League won their first match against Quinton Middle School 21-5.  Great job to all of the students for showcasing their knowledge and working together as a team!  Also, we were able to upgrade our music room with sound dampening boards.  When talking with students and Mr. Wade, they all agreed that the upgrade has made a huge difference!

It is hard to believe that this week is the last week of school in January.  February is right around the corner.  With that in mind, below are a few reminders...

-Wildcats do not have school next Monday, January 31.  PTSD has an in-service.

-End of the second marking period is Thursday, February 3.  We encourage all of our Wildcats to check their PowerSchool and make sure all of your work is up to date.  Also, take advantage of Z.A.P. daily during lunchtime for extra help from your teachers.

-Mark your calendar, our 2nd Wildcat Wildness is coming up on Friday, February 4.  Waldo The Wildcat is working on something special for this event!

PTMS January 18-21

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their 3-day weekend!  We were excited to finish out first full-week of 2022.  This past Friday, we celebrated our week using our Renaissance Green Ticket Program.  During the day, we acknowledged/rewarded 25 students with prizes for showcasing their P.R.I.D.E.  Also, using our "You Got Caught" incentive, we acknowledged/rewardeded nine of our PTMS staff with a prize.  We look forward to highlighting more staff and students as we move forward in 2022.

As you know, we were off in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr.  Below are a few "Did You Know Facts" about Mr. King's life.

Did you know...

-Mr. King's birth name was Michael, not Martin

-Mr. King entered college at age 15

-Mr. King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech was not his first at the Lincoln Memorial

-Mr. King and two other Americans have their birthday observed as a holiday.  Do you know the other two?

-Mr. King's first job was working for a newspaper.  He was promoted to assistant manager at age 13

-He was valedictorian of his class at Crozer Theological Seminary

-He spoke at over 2,500 events

PTMS January 10-14

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend and were able to get out in the snow!  This past week was a challenge due to the winter storms, however, all of us at PTMS made the most of our 3-days.  All of us at PTMS were excited to see our Wildcats back in the hallways and in our classrooms.  Students shared some of the great things that they did over their holiday break and began setting goals for the remainder of the school year.  Hopefully, "Mother Nature" will cooperate this week!

A few reminders for our Wildcats...

-Make sure to charge your Chromebooks each night to prepare for school

-Bring your charger to school each day in your carrying case in case your Chromebook needs to be charged while you are at school.

-Keep your Chromebooks in their carrying case at all times

-Do not place any pencils, pens, food, or other items in the carrying case with your Chromebook.  This often lead to the Chromebook getting damaged.
