PTMS Wildcats,

 We thank our Wildcats and PTMS staff for participating in Red Ribbon Week.  All of our Wildcats continued to learn about the importance of being drug-free and focused on healthy life choices.      

Our Harvest Festival was also a huge success!  We thank our PTMS staff for making this event such a fantastic night for our school community.  Everyone who attended was able to paint a pumpkin, enjoy a hayride, slide, and race on inflatables, take part in a doughnut eating contest, enjoy some music, compete in potato sack races and in tug of war, and more!  Thank you to all of our students and their families for coming out to visit PTMS during the night!

PTMS October 24-28

 PTMS Wildcats, 

    We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend!  This week we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon Week encourages everyone to be Drug-Free and to be aware of the negative effects drugs have on our bodies, minds, and performance.  In addition, we want to help our students with the choices they will make in their daily life.  Did you know on average a middle school student makes about 3,000 choices a day?  Yes, you read that correctly!  We know our Wildcats are not going to get every choice correct, however, we have and will continue to help our students think through all possible outcomes before making a final decision.  Below is a short video from Kid President to help with making choices!

PTMS October 17-21

PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend.  We have reached halfway through the first marking period for the 2022-23 school year.  As a school, we have continued to remind our students to use their agenda books for organization, turn in their work on time, attend ZAP during lunch for additional support, and to do their absolute best on each assignment.  This past week, our 8th-grade students had a presentation from the Salem County Vocational Technical School.  Our 8th-graders learned about possible fields of study that they could pursue if they were to attend high school.

This coming week is bus safety week.  Our district bus drivers continue to instruct/remind our Wildcats about proper behavior on the school bus to keep everyone safe going on to and from school.  Our bus drivers have and will continue to remind students to stay seated throughout the entire ride, buckle up, and keep their voices down while the bus is in motion so our drivers can focus on the road.  We encourage all of our parents and guardians to talk to their student(s) about how to stay safe and keep others safe while riding the bus.

PTMS October 11-14

 PTMS Wildcats,

    We hope that everyone enjoyed their extended weekend.  Last week our PTMS cross country team had their first meet of the season.  We are very proud of our runners and their hard work in the dual meet.  Also, PTMS celebrated the "Week of Respect."  We thank all of our staff and Wildcats for participating in the daily themes and showcasing their school P.R.I.D.E.  We look forward to taking the lessons learned during last week and extending them into the rest of the school year!  To close out our week, PTMS welcomed in Denee Angelo from the Salem County Sheriff's office to present grade level assemblies.  Our Wildcats learned about ways to treat others with respect in person as well as online.

PTMS October 3-7

 PTMS Wildcats,

We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend.  Last week was a great week at PTMS.  

• We started our first round of RTI services for students needing additional support in Math and ELA. 
• Our after-school clubs for the school year officially started servicing over 300 students 
• We had our Back-To-School night with an amazing turnout.  (Thank you to all of our parents and guardians who were able to attend)
• Our 5th-grade students had their "Belts on Bones" presentation to learn about seat belt safety
• We successfully completed our first month of school!    

We look forward to starting October with our "Week Of Respect" daily activities.  Below is the information for each day.  In addition to the daily themes, we will also have grade-level assemblies by our Salem County Sheriff's Department that focus on being respectful and working with others.  We look forward to showing our PTMS PRIDE during the Week Of Respect!

PTMS September 26-30

 PTMS Wildcats,

   We hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend.  Last week, our Wilcats took their New Jersey Start Strong Assessment in Language Arts and Math in grade 5-8.  Our 6th-grade students also completed the Science assessment.  This data along with our NWEA Map data will be used to help drive instruction with our students going forward.  Our Wildcats did a great job and we thank them for their hard work!  

Our after school clubs start this week at PTMS.  We had several clubs develop a waiting list due to the number of student sign-ups.  Any student on the waiting list received a letter indicating this information.  If there are any openings in the future, we will begin to fill the spots using our waitlist.  We look forward to working with our Wildcats this week in the start of the PTMS after-school clubs!

PTMS September 19-23

 PTMS Wildcats,

     We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  Our Wildcats took their Math and Language Arts NWEA Map Test this past week.  Our RTI Data Team began analyzing the results and creating groups for students who need additional support in Math and Language Arts.  We look to finalize groups next week and start working with our groups of students on Monday, September 26.    

    Club sign-ups are available in the cafeteria for our 2022-23 after-school clubs.  All clubs have a limit to the number of participants.  Once the club is full, we will create a waiting list and add students as spots open.  Each student on the waiting list will receive a letter so they are aware.  We look forward to another successful year of after-school clubs at PTMS.
